Team success for Ribble Valley Runners at the Accrington 10K

Race 4 of the RVR club championship saw an amazing 40 RVR members competing in the tough but rewarding Accrington 10K on Sunday October 30th 2022.

Not only did Team RVR have the most club members taking part but we also ran away with both the men’s and ladies team prizes for the first 6 male and female members over the finish line. What an excellent team performance! - well done everyone!

There was also individual glory for Hannah T who was third female and Helen R, Kate G, Diane H and Ian S who were all first to finish in their respective sex and age categories.

We even had some unofficial success in the junior race as our RVR stars of the future (we don't have a junior section - yet) ran extremely well and picked up a prize there too

Most importantly all of Team RVR supported each other and everyone made it round the challenging course with some even recording individual PBs which was outstanding on such a hilly course.

Many thanks also to the RVR members who didn’t run but who came along just to cheer everyone on and also take some excellent photos - it all contributed to an excellent Sunday morning!

Our Prize winners were:

  • Hannah T, Helen R, Kate G, Catherine B, Clare L, Diane H - 1st ladies team

  • Chris R, Ash J, Dan E, Duncan B, Garth S, Michael R - 1st mens team

  • Hannah T - 3rd place lady

  • Helen R - 1st F35

  • Kate G - 1st F45

  • Diane H - 1st F60

  • Ian S - 1st M70

The complete results can be found here

Well done to everyone - it was tough out there especially that first 7K uphill which seemed to go on forever.

So yet another awesome Team RVR turnout supporting an excellent, well organised local race and we are especially looking forward to the next event in the RVR championship which is our local event - the Ribble Valley 10K on Tuesday 27th December.

Can we get even more to that one?

We’re aiming for 50 - see you there!
